Abstract Guidelines

Oral Presentation Guidelines Poster Presentation Guidelines
  • All presenters must register for CYTOCON 2019, failure to do so will disqualify them for presentation.
  • Please note that the exact duration of oral presentation is 8 minutes (7 minutes presentation and 1 minute for discussion).
  • You are advised to strictly follow time limit, failing which the audiovisual will be switched off.
  • Your presentation should be prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint version 2003, 2007 or 2010.
  • Preferred page set-up is landscape orientation (portrait orientation will not be displayed correctly).
  • Use standard Windows fonts only. Try to avoid use of non-standard Windows fonts or language specific fonts.
  • Do not copy and paste the images from another application, please use the “insert image from a file” functionality from PowerPoint (format JPG or PNG).
  • Video Clips: Videos, when included, should ideally be in mpeg2. If any other format is used its codec should also be included. PowerPoint embeds image files directly into the file when you save them, while video files are not embedded. Only a link is made to the video file. Copy the video clips you want to insert into the same folder as the PowerPoint file. This will eliminate the problem of PowerPoint losing the link to the file. Be certain to bring the video files and the PowerPoint files to the meeting.
  • All PowerPoint slides and other files for presentation must be submitted on site on the console located near to the podium, 1 hour prior to the start of the presentation’s session.
  • The following media formats will be accepted: CD-R and CD-RW, DVD+-R, USB Pen Memory Drive.
  • Presenters will not be allowed to use their own laptop. Please do not load PowerPoint slides or other files directly to the computer in the session room from a flash/pen drive, CD-ROM, or other personal device.
  • As the First Author, you are obligated to present your abstract. Changes in the presentation type, day, time assigned to your abstract cannot be made.
  • Posters should be no more than 4ft. in height & 3 ft in width.
  • Posters will be viewed from a distance of at least 1 to 2 metres (3.2 to 6.4 ft.). Therefore lettering should be clear and bold, with the title at the top of the poster, in letters at least 3 cm (1 in) high. For narrative use large print such as 24 point.
  • Certain color combinations provide better contrast: Black on Yellow, Red on White, Black on Orange, Green on White or Green on Black.
  • Don’t make your display overly ornate- this will distract viewers from the impact of your information.
  • Use brief captions and few labels.
  • Use large typescript if displaying a copy of your abstract.
  • Keep illustrations clear, using charts, graphs, drawings and pictures.
  • Use matt (silk) finish photographs. This will help diminish glare.
  • It is important to have the exhibit completely assembled so that it takes minimal time to set up on site.
  • Do not write on the board provided to paste your poster.
  • The space and boards for putting up the posters will be given to the candidates.
  • The candidates shall come well equipped for putting up the poster.
